Positive Behavioral Supports (PBS) Positive Behavior Support (PBS) is a process of proactive school discipline where valued behaviors are taught, modeled, practiced and encouraged for all students and staff. PBS is a shift from more traditional models of discipline in schools, where behaviors are typically addressed only after they become problematic. PBS has gained national recognition as a way to foster a positive school climate. As a result, schools experience less disruptive behaviors and greater academic success. School-wide PBS integrates determined outcomes, behavioral science, research-proven practices, and systems change as a way to prevent the development and intensifying of problem behaviors, thus maximizing academic success for all students. Philadelphians United to Support Public Schools consists of a broad coalition of the City's public education stakeholders and advocates. The organizations that form this coalition stand firmly together on the belief that the current system of public education is inadequate and that the privatization of our schools is not an acceptable solution to improving the situation. We join together to fight for a new system of public education, one in which current funding injustices are rectified and quality public schools, particularly in poor and urban areas, are established.
