PCCY is about children... nothing more, nothing less. Our mission is simple: “To
improve the lives and life chances of our region’s children through thoughtful and
informed advocacy.”
PCCY is about making the lives of
Philadelphia, and the region’s children better, whatever it takes. PCCY fights for
children to get their fair share of City and State budgets, for homeless children, for
abused children, for children who can’t afford to get to school cause they can’t
afford the bus fare, for children whose parents are being taken off welfare, for those
children who have no safe place to go and nothing to do in the non-school hours, for
children being threatened by lead paint poisoning or those receiving inadequate health care.
Always, we’re about children,
boys and girls of all ages, from all neighborhoods, of all races, colors, creeds and
ethnic groups. We’re Philadelphia Citizens for Children and Youth, and we’re
dedicated to the very kids who commonly get lost in the shuffle.
