An Agenda for Pennsylvania

Over the past few months, PCCY has been developing position papers that have been presented to the candidates for Governor of Pennsylvania. In the days and weeks ahead, PCCY will continue to stress the importance of making sure that children and families are healthy, well educated, well cared for, and have the chance of a better life.

Throughout the 2010 campaign cycle PCCY will post additional resources on our web site that you can use to help educate your friends and colleagues about what’s at stake for kids in the 2010 election, and to encourage them to vote. Check back here often.

The Pennsylvania Budget and Policy Center has just completed brief overviews of the revenue proposals, the severance tax, corporate tax loopholes, the sales tax discount and the smokeless tobacco. You can find and download them at the link below.

These are intended for use by advocates, with simple explanations of the complex issues and have facts to refute the arguments we have heard from lawmakers. There are links to longer papers that have the footnotes and research if anyone wants the full chapter and verse on these issues.
